Charcoal Portrait of Maple - From Start to Finish

Tristan commissioned me to draw this charcoal portrait of the adorable Maple for his girlfriend Claire for Valentine's Day... isn't she sweet?!
Because she's so light and fluffy looking I used a mixture of light and medium charcoal for her fur and then dark charcoal to get some more dramatic detail around her gorgeous big eyes and nose.
She was done as a medium sized sketch and she took around six hours to draw.
I put her in a blue mount as that is Claire's favourite colour and Tristan also asked me to frame her in a white frame.
