A little bit about me

Hello, I’m Emma – a creative mum, nature enthusiast, and artist based in Herefordshire, UK. My brand, Mummy and Bear, was born from a deep love for wildlife, art, and my family. Along with my husband Ed and our daughter Layla, I create a life filled with creativity, fun, and a strong commitment to the environment.

My journey as an artist

I’ve always had a passion for art, and from a very young age, I was captivated by drawing – especially animals and nature. Although my degree was in Fashion and Textiles, my heart led me to create pet portraits for 8 years, capturing the essence of beloved animals for families. But after having my daughter Layla in 2021, my artistic journey took an exciting new direction.

I rediscovered my love of working with watercolours, especially watercolour pencils, and fell in love with sketching British wildlife, inspired by family walks through the countryside with Ed and Layla.

My focus now is on creating affordable, eco-friendly products that celebrate wildlife and bring joy to everyday family life. From baby and children’s décor to fun and whimsical greeting cards, my work is deeply influenced by my love for the natural world and my passion for supporting wildlife conservation.

As a mum who values creating a nurturing and meaningful space, I also believe in shopping more eco-consciously to help build a sustainable future for our children. That’s why I use eco-friendly materials and packaging, ensuring each item reflects my values of sustainability and ethical practices. It’s important to me that my products are both good for the environment and good for your home.

As a mum, I believe it’s vital to teach our children to respect and appreciate wildlife, inspiring them to protect the natural world. That’s why a portion of every sale is donated to the Wildlife Aid Foundation, helping to conserve the habitats and animals that will shape our children’s future.
